The Lake Welcome Center is privately funded by businesses in the Lake Oconee area. It is a community information center to serve visitors and guests in the area in addition to full and part time residents.

Lake Welcome Center known locally as The Lake Center

FEATURE EVENT - ATHFEST 2008
June 18 - 22 - Athfest's mission is to educate citizens and visitors about music and arts in general, and about Athens music and arts in particular. Experience over 160 bands on outdoor stages and in Athens' renowned clubs. Original music, art, local film screenings, and KidsFest provide entertainment for all ages. Outdoor stages are free; all-venue weekend wristbands are available for sale.
Named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society!

FEATURE ART GALLERY - THE HAMPTON FINE ART GALLERY
Cameron Hampton, a Georgia native, attended the Atlanta College of Art and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Following this, she moved to Budapest, Hungary and studied independently in Vienna, Amsterdam, Brussels and Czechoslovakia. She now resides in Bostwick, Georgia, where she co-owns The Hampton Fine Art Gallery and exhibits internationally.

LITTLE QUILTS - The Lake Oconee Quilt Guild offered it's members an opportunity to participate in a challenge, to make a 9" x 12" quilt depicting what they like about our community.
A total of 25 "Little Quilts" will be on display here during the month of June.
